Wet Rug Water Damage Drying
- Extraction of water with flood extraction vacuum. Wool rugs can store up to half a kilo of water.
- Heat - Our dehumidifiers contribute to increase the temperature of the rug surface to speed up drying times'
- Dry Air - Dehumidifiers take the moisture out of the air and let out dry air which decreases drying time. We also use Air movers to increase air flow.
Remember it is important to dry rugs as soon and as quickly as possible to prevent mould growth.
How do we clean the rugs after water damage?
We mainly use hot water extraction which leaves less residue and is a less invasive procedure. We make sure the pressure and temperature and pressure is lower than usual so we do not damage the natural fibres of the rug. We may also need to apply a particular antimicrobial which is used to kill bacteria, fungi or protozoans.
