Mould Remediation...in the Bible????

Yep, the Bible talks about mould in. I found this out when I attended the mould investigation course by mycologia. Being a Christian myself, I always find these things interesting. It basically says:

Leviticus 14:33 - 48 Yahweh (God) spoke to Moses and Aaron and said: if the house is pitted with reddish or green depressions

the priest shall shut it for seven days
remove infected stones and throw them in some unclean place
if the house remains unclean it must be pulled down
anyone who enters the house will be unclean until the evening (Safety Gear)
if the infection does not spread the priest is to declare it clean

It talks about preventing cross contamination (wash clothes) and clearance testing (Preist declaration).

It interesting that this bible verse (probably written around 3000 years ago) touches on principles we use when cleaning mould contaminations today.

Sleeping on the Job?

This was an in interesting job which we attended last month. There was storm water runoff from the property next door. The water level in the house was 30cm high in some areas. It was pretty muddy water too. That is Warren lying down in the corner, he is removing the skirting board so that we can clean all the cavities and walls as well as dry them with blowers and dehumidifiers (see picture below).

In the end it look like nothing ever happened, the client was very happy. A job well done.

We mostly do restoration of properties after disasters but we also serve Brisbane by carpet cleaning. The Christmas season is when most of our commercial carpet cleaning clients require to have their carpets cleaned.

I was cleaning a large auditorium a few weeks ago and I decided to film my carpet wand strokes with my trusty Nokia phone. In this video I am carpet cleaning a high traffic seat isles. We can easily see the grease moving off the carpet quite easily. It took two teams of two people to clean this large auditorium and it took us a day.

We use a late model Prochem Legend Petrol truck mount Machine. Which gives us constant heat and suction. It is no surprise how easy it was to lift the grease off the carpet. Here is a picture of it:

Hard Surface Cleaning (Tile Cleaning Brisbane)

Recently we did some specialised hard surface high pressure stone cleaning in Brisbane. I managed to video some before and after shots. This job involved stripping of many layers of sealer that has been applied over the years. Here is are the results.

Why it is important to dry in walls...

Here is a picture of inside a wall...we can see that between the framing is a large amount of water present.

This goes to show how important it is to dry inside walls. The conditions inside the walls could include

* Poor ventilation
* Dark location
* Mould food source (soft woods)
* Correct temperature for given mould type. (colder conditions inside walls in some cases due to steel framing)

All of these factors can lead to mould growth. New Life Restoration can use an injectidry system to vent air into walls to help dry these cavities (pictured).
